Work Experience Day for Loreto Milford TY Students with Donegal Dublin Business Network

MCR Group was delighted to organise a work experience day for Transition Year students from Loreto Milford, in partnership with the Donegal Dublin Business Network, at the John Sisk & Son Ltd Glass Bottle site.

40 students and 3 teachers were welcomed for an in-depth look at the project, beginning with a two-hour walk-around, led by Project Director Kieran Crowley. Kieran guided the group through the history of the site, the key planning stages, and how the build has progressed to date. This included a digital presentation in one of the project’s whiteboard meeting areas, giving students a clear understanding of the project’s scope and complexity.

To provide a broader understanding of the diverse career opportunities within the construction industry, students also met with supervisors from Kerrigan Mechanical Ltd. and Braham Electrical Group. Through live demonstrations and discussions, they gained valuable insight into the specialist trades, technical expertise and collaboration required to deliver a project of this scale.

The day was particularly special for MCR Group, as our Construction Cleaning Director, Vincent McElwee, and Chief Commercial Officer, Donall Barrett, are both proud former students of Loreto Milford, making it a meaningful opportunity to give back to their school community.

We look forward to supporting more initiatives that encourage young people to explore career opportunities in construction and building environments.
